OraCare has introduced OraPro, a prescription-only toothpaste that reportedly demonstrated significantly higher plaque reduction and fluoride absorption than over-the-counter alternatives in clinical testing.

OraCare has launched OraPro, a toothpaste available exclusively through dental professionals. The product features Micro Netting Technology (MNT), which the company says is designed to remove plaque more thoroughly by acting as a microscopic net.

Clinical data released by OraCare show that OraPro reduced plaque 359% more effectively than conventional over-the-counter toothpaste. It also delivered a 209% increase in fluoride absorption, a factor the company attributes to improved enamel protection. In whitening tests, OraPro performed comparably to leading whitening toothpastes but with lower abrasiveness, measured at an RDA of 88.

“OraPro isn’t just another toothpaste—it’s a leap forward in oral care,” said Dr Robert Martino, CEO of OraCare. “We’ve had offices who love our OraCare rinse ask us when we are going to have a toothpaste, and we took our time because we wanted it to be different. We’re proud to finally offer a product that truly transforms the daily brushing experience.”

OraPro is the latest addition to the OraCare product line, which includes OraCare Health Rinse—a professional-use chlorhexidine alternative. That product has received the Cellerant Best of Class Hygiene Award each year from 2021 to 2024. OraPro is currently available only through dental practices.
