The association is looking for a member to nominate as the North American representative on the World Federation of Orthodontists Executive Committee.
The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) is accepting applications from its members in North America to be nominated for a position on the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) Executive Committee. The deadline to apply for the nomination is March 13, 2026.
Selection Process and Term
The AAO Board of Trustees will select a nominee to fill a vacancy representing North America for a term from 2026 to 2030. The WFO Executive Committee will finalize the appointment during its meeting in April 2026, held in conjunction with the AAO Annual Session in Orlando, Fla.
The WFO, which includes affiliate organizations in more than 120 countries, works to advance the art and science of orthodontics worldwide.
Candidate Requirements and Duties
To be considered, candidates must be members of both the WFO and the AAO. The WFO expects all executive committee members to have extensive experience in association governance, such as the presidency of a national or regional orthodontic organization, along with experience in association management and scientific program organization. Experience as an orthodontic educator is also desired.
The role requires attendance at quarterly Sunday meetings via Zoom and work on several WFO subcommittees and task forces. The committee also meets in person during the AAO Annual Session.
Dr Aron Dellinger, secretary-general of the WFO, is available to address questions about the committee.
