Dr Richard Rosato of Concord, NH, has been installed as the new president of the American Dental Association, following decades of volunteer service to the organization.
Richard Rosato, DMD, of Concord, NH, has been installed as the president of the American Dental Association (ADA). Prior to his induction, Rosato served as ADA president-elect and has been an active ADA member and volunteer leader for 35 years.
Extensive ADA Involvement
Rosato previously represented the 1st District on the ADA Board of Trustees from 2019 to 2023 and served as Chair of the ADA Council on Ethics, Bylaws and Judicial Affairs. His leadership within the organization has been longstanding and multifaceted.
Focus Areas for Presidency
During his term as president, Rosato intends to emphasize unity of purpose within the profession, support a culture of listening, and highlight the importance of the dentist-patient relationship and wellness. He also plans to explore the development of future-focused reports on dentistry and dental care.
“The work is the same—but the purpose makes all the difference. That’s what this profession is about. The belief that every effort, every day, adds up to something bigger: helping people live healthier, happier lives,” stated Rosato. “That’s why I chose this profession, and it’s why I raised my hand to serve in this role. I traveled the country, heard from leaders and members, and you put your trust in me. And today, I see this presidency as full of possibilities for dentists and patients—now and in the future. And together, we’re creating that future.”
Broader Professional Involvement
Rosato served as president of the New Hampshire Dental Society in 2010 and chaired the Society’s Council on Government Affairs. He also served as long-term delegate from 2011 to 2019. His professional affiliations include the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
“If we want our members to thrive in the future, we must start living in that future now—anticipating change, preparing for challenges and creating what comes next,” added Rosato.
Clinical Background and Personal Life
A 1994 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Rosato completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Illinois Chicago. He has practiced in various modalities and currently owns Capitol Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, PLLC, in Concord.
