The consulting firm will hold a half-day event in Orlando to guide orthodontists through the financial and operational aspects of career and ownership changes.
Bentson Copple Patterson & Associates will host its Practice & Career Transition Seminar on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The event is scheduled as a pre-conference seminar for the 2026 American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Session and is designed for orthodontists planning for career and ownership changes.
Seminar to Address Key Transition Topics
The half-day event will cover the current orthodontic market landscape, including changes in practice modalities and transition options such as partnerships, OSO affiliations, and private equity. Sessions will also address practice valuation, financial readiness for a sale, and various deal structures. The agenda includes guidance on managing communication, maintaining staff and patient continuity, and provides a roadmap for prospective buyers.
The seminar will conclude with an expert panel discussion and an open Q&A session with the Bentson Copple Patterson & Associates team.
Expert Guidance for Buyers and Sellers
“This seminar is designed to give orthodontists clarity and confidence as they navigate one of the most important decisions in their professional lives—transitioning into or out of an orthodontic practice,” says Doug Copple, partner at Bentson Copple Patterson & Associates, in a release. “We’ll address both the financial and emotional aspects of orthodontic transitions, so doctors leave with a clear roadmap for their future.”
“Our goal is to equip doctors with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed choices about the future of their careers and practices regardless of whether they are residents and young doctors looking to purchase a practice or practice owners planning to add a partner or sell their practice,” says Shannon Patterson, partner at Bentson Copple Patterson & Associates, in a release.
