DentalBee, an AI-powered dental documentation platform, has received pre-seed funding from the Dental Innovation Alliance VC Fund I, LP to support growth and adoption across dental practices.

DentalBee, an artificial intelligence-based documentation and analytics platform for dental practices, has secured a strategic investment from the Dental Innovation Alliance VC Fund I, LP (DIA). The investment marks a key addition to DIAโ€™s growing portfolio of workflow automation technologies designed to improve operational efficiency and clinical outcomes in the dental sector. DIA led DentalBeeโ€™s pre-seed round this month.

DentalBeeโ€™s platform seeks to address a major industry challenge: excessive time spent on clinical documentation. According to the company, dentists spend up to 20% of their working hours on documentation tasks, while documentation-related issues account for nearly 19% of paid malpractice claims. The platformโ€™s voice-enabled AI reportedly streamlines clinical documentation into a three-step processโ€”recording patient encounters, generating customized clinical notes, and integrating them with practice management software.

Automation and Analytics for Practice Performance

โ€œDocumentation burden represents one of the most persistent operational challenges in dental practices today,โ€ said Doug Brown, DIA co-founder and managing partner. โ€œDentalBee’s solution not only addresses this pain point but transforms it into a strategic advantage by providing actionable analytics that improve practice performance.โ€

DIA partner Kate Orr has joined DentalBeeโ€™s board of directors. She emphasized the platformโ€™s potential beyond documentation, including its use in streamlining staff training and reducing insurance claim denials. โ€œDentalBeeโ€™s innovative AI scribe is not only transforming how dental practices operate today, but it also serves as a powerful launch point for practices to unlock even greater returns,โ€ she said.

Scaling with Strategic Support

DentalBee CEO Mohamed Aly said the partnership with DIA brings more than funding. โ€œIt gives us access to an unparalleled network of dental industry experts and connections,โ€ he said. The company plans to use the investment to accelerate adoption among DSOs, group practices, and solo providers.
