Carestream Dental, Atlanta, has opened registration for its 2018 Global Oral Health Summit.  The summit, which will take place November 9 to 11, 2018, at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, just outside Dallas, Tex, will feature an education program that was designed with the guidance of real practice management software users.

“User-centered design and the voice of the customer drives the development process at Carestream Dental, and these concepts carried over to the decision-making process surrounding the speakers, session formats, and courses offered at the Summit,” Ed Shellard, DMD, chief dental officer, Carestream Dental, said.

According to the company, Dawn Hill, Jan Odell, Angie Minks, Misty Mattingly, Jerilyn Bird, Barb Nissen, Carol Chambers, and Barb Houser, a volunteer team of CS OrthoTrac, CS PracticeWorks, CS SoftDent, and CS WinOMS users, were closely consulted for their input on all purposed Summit sessions to ensure the educational program would meet the needs of their peers and fellow software users.

New course formats—such as sessions led by seasoned software users sharing results-based, real life cases and “Future Views,” which gives attendees access to product line managers and other Carestream Dental leaders for the latest updates on their software and equipment—were designed to provide attendees with new perspectives on the technology they use in their practices.

Some of the summit sessions include: hands-on courses led by Carestream Dental-certified software trainers that help users tap into the efficiency of their practice management software; updates on what’s new within the software, straight from the designers and developers who helped build the systems; industry roundtables with Carestream Dental trainers, support representatives, consultants, and exhibitors to discuss what’s trending in the industry and ways for attendees to implement proficiency into their practices; and a panel of software users, trainers, information technology specialists, and Carestream Dental support technicians sharing their experiences, challenges, and successes in going chartless.

The full education program includes more than 70 courses led by a combination of real software users; Carestream Dental developers and designers; CS OrthoTrac, CS PracticeWorks, CS SoftDent, and CS WinOMS practice management software trainers; doctors; and consultants.

In addition to the educational courses, the summit will include an opportunity for attendees to participate in a special service project that benefits the local USO; participate in team building activities like a guided sunrise stroll of the Gaylord Texan’s four-and-a-half acres of waterways and gardens; take part in a lip sync battle; or enjoy a chocolate and wine pairing tasting session from local wineries.

Early registration rates are available through June 29, 2018.
