The company introduced three new packages for its practice management software, designed on an integrated platform for DSOs and growth-focused practices.

Henry Schein One has unveiled an updated version of its Dentrix Ascend practice management software, introducing three new packages built on an integrated platform architecture. The new offerings are designed to help dental service organizations (DSOs) and other practices unify workflows and increase revenue.

The Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend platforms currently serve more than 48,000 practices in the U.S. and 90% of the top 50 DSOs.

Integrated Platform for Practice Workflows

The new packages are intended to advance the company’s strategy of combining practice management, clinical workflows, imaging and revenue cycle management within a single platform. According to the company, the system uses an “agentic platform architecture” to coordinate entire systems rather than individual tasks through several key AI-driven innovations.

Among these features is Digital Forms, which uses AI to capture insurance data from photos of a patient’s driver’s license, insurance card and credit card. The tool is designed to make record entry faster and more accurate for practice teams, with the company reporting 22 million forms completed in 2025. Additionally, Eligibility Pro retrieves real-time benefits from multiple sources, including insurance portals, and automatically loads coverage details into the patient record. This is built to ensure teams have accurate information before the appointment begins.

The platform also incorporates Image Verify, an AI quality assessment agent that evaluates clinical images at the moment of capture. It helps prevent common causes of claim denials while reinforcing clinical standards through a star rating system. Finally, Voice Notes, an AI agent built with AWS, converts chairside conversations into structured clinical records. By using generative AI to transcribe and summarize in real time, the feature aims to reduce administrative burden and eliminate after-hours note-taking.

Scalable Options and User Experience

Dentrix Ascend offers three structured packages built on a unified foundation, allowing practices to scale as they grow. The entry tier, Ascend Essentials, provides core workflows and foundational analytics for new or smaller practices, including payments, claims processing, Image Verify and Voice Notes. Ascend Pro targets established practices seeking greater automation, adding multi-location management and Eligibility Pro checks. Ascend Accelerate is designed for large, data-driven organizations, offering enterprise reporting, system-wide optimization and an expanded suite of AI capabilities.

Support and Availability

Henry Schein One provides implementation support for practices migrating to the new platform, including an AI-powered support agent named Claire for 24/7 assistance.
