The integration aims to simplify patient financing for orthodontic practices using the Cloud 9 practice management system.
Synchrony and Planet DDS have expanded their strategic partnership to integrate the CareCredit financing solution into Planet DDS’s Cloud 9 orthodontic practice management platform.
Under the new multi-year agreement, CareCredit is now the preferred patient financing solution across all Planet DDS platforms, including Cloud 9 for orthodontic practices and Denticon for dental practices. The partnership builds on an existing relationship that began in 2020.
Financing Integration for Orthodontic Workflows
The integration of CareCredit into the Cloud 9 platform, which serves more than 2,500 orthodontic practices, will allow practices to embed financing options directly into their existing workflows. This marks Synchrony’s integration with an orthodontic-specific practice management system.
“For Dental Support Organizations (DSOs) and growing practices, the ability to scale hinges on having efficient, connected systems,” says Sonia Williams, senior vice president and general manager, dental, at Synchrony, in a release. “Our expanded partnership with Planet DDS is designed to power that efficiency. By integrating CareCredit into their core software, we help practices operate more effectively and strengthen how they connect with patients about their financing options.”
Streamlining Patient Payment and Practice Operations
The integration is designed to streamline the application and payment process, allowing practice teams to focus on patient care. Patients can check for prequalification on a smart device without an impact to their credit score. When the card is used for treatment, practices receive payment in as few as two business days.

The CareCredit integration into the Cloud 9 platform is planned for the coming months.
