Ormco has introduced Spark Junior, a new clear aligner designed for two-phase orthodontic treatment in younger patients.

Ormco has launched Spark Junior, a new addition to its Spark Clear Aligner line, aimed at younger orthodontic patients and designed to support treatment from childhood into young adulthood.

Two-Phase Treatment Structure

Spark Junior offers a two-phase aligner treatment plan. Phase One is intended for patients under age 13 and includes unlimited stages of aligners and refinements over 1.5 years. The system starts with up to 25 stages of aligners and can be expanded as needed through the unlimited refinement feature. A pause feature allows clinicians to delay Phase Two without time restrictions.

Phase Two transitions patients into Spark Advanced, covering 3.5 years of care from the beginning of this second phase. Both phases are available independently, according to the company, offering clinicians flexibility in treatment planning without requiring a commitment to both phases at the outset.

BiteSync Included

Spark Junior includes BiteSync, a solution for Class II malocclusion through mandibular advancement, which is available at any point during treatment and is included within the product’s fee structure.

Material and Workflow

The aligners are made with Spark’s TruGEN material, developed for comfort and transparency. According to Ormco, Spark Junior is designed for streamlined use in clinical settings, offering expedited design within 1 business day and manufacturing within 5 business days.

Clinician Perspective

“With Spark Junior, I can now bring the same precision and control I rely on with Spark Aligners to my younger patients,” said Mark Coreil, DDS. “What sets Spark Junior apart is the ability to treat in two phases, enabling effective early intervention and a seamless transition into teen or adult treatment while offering significant cost savings. Unlike other aligner systems, Spark Junior allows for a pause in treatment without penalizing families. If a child’s teeth take longer to come in, there’s no additional cost for continuing treatment. It’s a smarter, more flexible solution that delivers the Spark smile my patients and their families truly value.”
