Ormco Corp, Orange, Calif, recently wrapped up its annual 4-day educational program, Forum 2019, where it officially debuted SmartArch, a laser-engineered copper NiTi archwire, designed to allow clinicians to transition to the finishing wire after just two SmartArch wires. Manufactured with a patented precision laser process that programs specific forces into each inter-bracket space, SmartArch’s design, according to the company, is programmed to deliver the ideal force for to each individual tooth.
Additionally, Ormco offered a first look at Spark, the company’s new clear aligner offering that will be available later in 2019.
The Forum 2019 showcased lectures on practice performance, orthodontic treatment approaches, and new innovations. Breakout sessions and discussions covered a variety of topics ranging from passive-self ligation, aligner therapy, airway management, myofunctional therapy, social media and digital marketing, and office culture. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore the latest products and solutions from over 25 orthodontic focused companies in the new Innovation & Partnership Pavilion.
The Forum program also included a Ranch & Rodeo charity event benefiting the Smile for a Lifetime Foundation, a nonprofit organization of orthodontists that provides orthodontic treatment to individuals who would not otherwise have the opportunity.
