The orthodontic support organization added more than 100 locations in 2025 through new affiliations and de novo practices.

Smile Doctors added more than 100 new locations nationwide in 2025, expanding its network to over 580 practices across 36 states. The orthodontic support organization (OSO) grew its national footprint through its acquisition of myOrthos in the first quarter and partnerships with 15 practices, including eight recent affiliations and three de novo locations.

De Novo Openings Through Joint Venture Program

Smile Doctors also opened three de novo locations through its joint venture program, which expands established, doctor-led brands into new markets. The new locations are:

  • Northern Virginia Orthodontics (VA) — Led by Dr Zach Casagrande
  • Today’s Orthodontics (MI) — Led by Dr Nicole Teifer

“Doctor-driven care is at the core of who we are,” says Dr Scott Law, co-founder and chief clinical officer of Smile Doctors, in a release. “It’s a privilege to support some of the best orthodontists in the country as they thoughtfully expand their practices. Our joint venture program benefits doctors, their families, and their legacies.”

Company Outlook for 2026

The expansion marked a milestone year for the company, which celebrated its tenth year of operation in 2025.

“Our focus has remained simple: supporting orthodontists so they can do what they do best—serve patients with care and precision,” says J Hedrick, CEO of Smile Doctors, in a release. “When doctors have more bandwidth, they have more drive to grow. And when they have access to the tailored growth options we provide… more patients can receive high-quality care in their own communities. We look forward to empowering even more orthodontists to define their own career paths in the year ahead.”
