Align Technology’s Q3 2025 results showed a 14.7% sequential increase in clear aligner volume for teens and kids, with overall shipments up 4.9% year-over-year.
Align Technology Inc reported third-quarter 2025 revenue of $995.7 million, up 1.8% from the prior year and ahead of company guidance. Clear aligner revenue was $805.8 million, a 2.4% year-over-year increase. The company shipped 647,750 clear aligner cases during the quarter, up 4.9% from Q3 2024.
Clear Aligner Growth in Youth Segment
Teen and kids cases totaled 256,000, a 14.7% increase over Q2 2025 and an 8.3% increase year-over-year. The company attributed the growth to more doctor submitters and continued adoption of Invisalign First.
Equipment Sales Decline Seasonally
Imaging Systems and CAD/CAM Services revenue was $189.9 million, down 8.6% sequentially and 0.6% year-over-year. Align stated the decline was in line with typical capital equipment seasonality.
Margin Impacted by One-Time Charges
GAAP operating income for the quarter was $96.3 million with a 9.7% operating margin. Restructuring, impairment, and depreciation charges totaling $88.3 million contributed to the lower margin. Non-GAAP operating margin rose to 23.9%, an increase both sequentially and year-over-year.
CEO Comments on Youth Market
“Our Q3 results reflect year-over-year growth in clear aligner volumes, driven primarily by the EMEA, APAC, and Latin America regions, as well as strong sequential growth from the APAC and Latin America regions, driven primarily by the teens and kids’ category,” said Joe Hogan, Align Technology president and CEO.
Financial Position and Stock Repurchases
Align ended the quarter with $1.0 billion in cash and cash equivalents, up from $901.2 million in Q2. The company repurchased approximately 0.5 million shares at an average price of $136.77 during the quarter.
Tariff Impact
Align stated that recent U.S. tariff actions are not expected to have a material effect on its operations. The company previously addressed potential risks in its Q1 and Q2 2025 earnings materials.
