Planet DDS has launched DentalOS with AI, embedding artificial intelligence into enterprise DSO workflows and operations.
Planet DDS has introduced DentalOS with AI, a new enterprise platform that embeds artificial intelligence into dental service organization (DSO) operations, including imaging, revenue cycle, patient engagement, and orthodontics.
Targeting DSO Inefficiencies
The platform aims to address what Planet DDS calls “process debt”—inefficiencies from disconnected systems that limit AI’s effectiveness. The company cites rising costs, staffing shortages, and declining reimbursements as key issues for DSOs, referencing the 2025 DIA Survey.
Platform-Wide AI Integration
Unlike standalone AI tools, DentalOS with AI features a platform-level layer that supports automation across multiple functions. It integrates with AI imaging providers Overjet, Pearl, and VideaHealth, and has added 15 new AI partners.
“AI is already delivering real results in dental when it’s connected to the platform,” said Rahul Khot, VP of AI & Innovation at Planet DDS. “Now we’re embedding intelligence into the DentalOS platform using agentic AI.”
AI Agents in Daily Operations
The platform includes AI agents that perform tasks like claims follow-up and schedule optimization. Planet DDS says this embedded intelligence is designed to reduce manual work, speed up processes, and improve operational visibility across teams.
