The company has released AI-powered tools designed to automate appointment confirmations and scheduling within its Denticon and Cloud 9 software.

Planet DDS has unveiled DentalOS AI Agents, a new category of AI-powered tools designed to operate within its Denticon and Cloud 9 dental practice management systems. The autonomous agents access live patient data and schedules to complete operational tasks.

Agents to Automate Front Desk Tasks

The initial release includes two agents focused on front desk operations: the Confirmation Agent and the Scheduling Agent.

The Confirmation Agent automates outbound appointment confirmations. According to the company, it can increase confirmation rates by 20% to 50%, reduce no-shows by 15% to 30%, and save front desk teams 60% to 75% of the hours spent on manual confirmation workflows. The agent can also reschedule appointments during the same call if needed.

The Scheduling Agent works to keep schedules full by proactively contacting patients from recall, wait, and ASAP lists to book appointments directly into the practice management system. It also initiates outreach to fill openings created by cancellations.

“The Confirmation and Scheduling Agents protect production and reduce no-shows, which for DSOs means healthier EBITDA,” says Nathan James, chief product officer at Planet DDS, in a release. “And this is just the first layer.”

Integration and Workflow

The AI agents are embedded within DentalOS and connect directly with the Denticon and Cloud 9 platforms, using each organization’s existing scheduling rules, communication standards, and workflows. All interactions are logged back into the practice management system for full visibility.

“We’re introducing an entirely new way of using our software by providing access to an AI workforce that lives inside DentalOS, understands the full context of every patient interaction, and works alongside human teams so organizations can scale without sacrificing consistency, responsiveness, or the people who make it all work,” says Eric Giesecke, ceo of Planet DDS, in a release.

Future Development and Availability

Planet DDS plans to introduce additional AI agents throughout 2026 and beyond to assist with clinical coordination, patient communications, and revenue cycle management.

An early access waitlist for the DentalOS AI Agents is now open to current Denticon and Cloud 9 customers.
