The unified software platform connects practice management systems and incorporates AI tools for expanding dental organizations.
Planet DDS has launched DentalOS, a dental enterprise platform designed to replace traditional practice management software for multi-location dental organizations. The platform connects Denticon and Cloud 9 on a single data layer, incorporating new enterprise capabilities and artificial intelligence (AI) agents.
Available at no additional cost to current customers, DentalOS aims to provide dental support organization (DSO) executives with improved visibility, control, and financial performance across multiple locations. More than half of the 60 largest DSOs in North America currently use Planet DDS software.
Enterprise Features and Integration
“I’ve never met a DSO leader who said their biggest problem was finding the right practice management software. They talk about visibility, scale, AI, and operational consistency across dozens of locations. They’re looking for a platform that matches the ambition of what they’ve built,” says Mike Huffaker, chief revenue officer of Planet DDS.
DentalOS connects practice management, revenue cycle management (RCM), imaging, and AI on an open ecosystem supporting over 80 integration partners. The platform introduces several enterprise add-on suites to streamline operations. These include Clinical Voice+ for voice-enabled clinical documentation, Agents+ for automated patient scheduling and confirmations, and Imaging+ to centralize cloud storage and eliminate local servers.
Additionally, the platform features RCM+ to manage revenue cycles and identify claims risks before they become write-offs, Patient+ to systematize communications, and Payments+ to automate ledger posting across all locations. This centralized approach is designed to ensure consistent performance and data quality across the entire enterprise.
Phased Rollout and Availability
The platform is rolling out in phases, starting with a unified desktop experience, single sign-on, and centralized user management. It is also available to smaller groups with two to nine locations through the company’s Launchpad program.
