Zap Lasers introduces the StylaOrtho™ Advanced Microlaser System. Designed for orthodontic soft-tissue applications, the 1.9-ounce StylaOrtho measures 6.9 inches long. It has no wires or cables, allowing orthodontists to move freely throughout treatment areas.

Zap engineers spent more than 2 years fitting the company’s diode laser technology into StylaOrtho’s all-in-one design. In addition to 2.0 watts of power, eight orthodontic procedure settings, and continuous and pulsed modes, StylaOrtho’s features include:

  • A lightweight, ergonomically balanced aluminum body;
  • prethreaded disposable tips that eliminate the need for scoring and stripping and are ready to use straight from the box;
  • an intelligent built-in gravity sensor that automatically detects the microlaser’s orientation and adjusts StylaOrtho’s high-contrast display to be read whether operated by a left- or right-handed practitioner;
  • a compact charger base that does double duty as both StylaOrtho’s resting place between procedures and a battery charger capable of simultaneously charging three batteries in less than an hour;
  • two rechargeable lithium ion batteries, each of which can run for more than 20 minutes without interruption; and
  • a wireless foot pedal that uses a 2.4 GHz frequency to communicate with StylaOrtho’s main body.
