Henry Schein has released its 2024 CARES Report outlining progress on sustainability, workplace safety, community programs, and long-term climate goals.
Henry Schein Inc released its 2024 CARES Report, detailing the company’s progress on sustainability and corporate citizenship initiatives. The report includes updates on climate targets, workplace safety, employee engagement, and community impact programs.

Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Henry Schein Inc. “In this year’s CARES report, we are pleased to update on our progress and accomplishments in continuing to work together creatively, collaboratively, and with a shared understanding of our strategy and goals, for the benefit of our business, our stakeholders, and the world.”
Climate Commitments
The company reported it has validated near-term and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets with the goal of achieving net zero by 2050.
Reporting and Safety
Henry Schein completed a voluntary global Double Materiality Assessment in line with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and European Sustainability Reporting Standards. The company identified six out of 10 reporting topics as material to the organization. In 2024, Henry Schein also recorded a global “lost-time injury frequency rate” of 0.76 per 200,000 hours worked.
Employee Engagement
The company continued to expand education for employees on culture and values, with an emphasis on sustaining a meaningful and inclusive workplace. Volunteer opportunities for employees included Carry the Load, the We Care Global Challenge, Back to School, and Holiday Cheer programs.
Community Programs
Henry Schein launched its CARES Package program, offering six separate turnkey kits with donated products for health care professionals to support community projects. Since its launch, 611 kits have been donated, supporting 109 projects and nearly 300,000 patients.
Five Focus Pillars
The company also updated its CARES brand to focus on five core areas: catalyzing health care access, advancing policies and solutions, relationship building, empowering employees, and sustaining the planet.
