Students in attendance at the AAO’s headquarters during this year’s conference in St. Louis, represented 52 orthodontics programs.

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) hosted nearly 500 orthodontic residents for the Graduate Orthodontic Residents Program Conference (GORP) on July 29 in St. Louis, Mo. GORP is an annual conference that allows residents to network, learn and get acquainted to the orthodontic specialty.

AAO President Dr. Ken Dillehay, DDS, MS, welcomed the group upon arrival, he said, “The AAO welcomes you to St. Louis and your headquarters. Take the time to meet new colleagues and find opportunities for professional growth. As you begin your journey as an orthodontist, the AAO will be with you every step of the way.”

This year’s conference hosted by St. Louis University (SLU) brought residents from Boston University, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Washington, and the University of Michigan. In total, students represented 52 orthodontics programs.

The next GORP conference, hosted by the University of Michigan, will take place in Ann Arbor, Mich, on Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7, 2022.
