Hu-Friedy helped raise more than $24,000 in support of Breast Cancer Network of Strength (formerly know as the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization) over Mother’s Day weekend.

Hu-Friedy pledged to continue its second year of support for the Y-ME Race to Empower by establishing teams other Y-ME race cities across the country, including Atlanta; Denver; Miami; New Haven, Conn; Sacramento, Calif; San Diego; and Washington, DC.

Teams of dental organizations and partners also joined together under the Hu-Friedy name, including the American Association of Women Dentists, Modern Hygienist magazine, and individual members of the Friends of Hu-Friedy online dental hygiene community. A Hu-Friedy race T-shirt was designed and worn by all the Hu-Friedy team members across the country. The T-shirt design was announced as the second place prize winner in the Race to Empower corporate T-Shirt contest.

The Y-ME organization also made an important announcement at the race—the organization will now be called the Breast Cancer Network of Strength. A new logo and branding message was also revealed.
