Of the 53 graduates of Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center this year, one must have garnered more than a few chuckles at his graduation.

His name is Jeffrey Toothman, DDS, and—you guessed it—dentistry is his game.

According to an article in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle News, Toothman, 28, is following in the footsteps of a long line of “toothmen,” starting with his great-grandfather, who was a dentist. His grandfather also was a dentist, and his father, Ronald G. Toothman, DMD, has an orthodontics practice in Maryland.

The Toothman family embraces their name and profession wholeheartedly: The family has cars with vanity license plates that read “Tooth” followed by a number, a boat named “Tooth Ferry,” and a house called “Tooth Acres.”
