The American Dental Association (ADA) has released the ADA Practical Guide to Leading and Managing the Dental Team. The guide is designed for dental professionals, office managers, and anyone on the team who would like to develop their leadership skills.
The publication is available in print and e-book formats.
Written by dental industry experts, chapter topics include conflict resolution, using numbers and stats to engage the dental team, coaching and mentoring, showing appreciation, and legal issues in team management.
According to Dr Lisa Knowles, author of the chapter on conflict resolution, “This book is the perfect supplement to a dentist’s technical training. It covers behind the scene details not learned in dental school. As a dentist, I can attest to the need for a book like this. Learning to lead people is one of the hardest parts in dentistry.”
