Bartholomew Frank Palmisano, Jr, was sentenced last week to more than 3years in prison for illegally inflating the revenues and assets ofOrthodontic Centers of America Inc (OCA) when he was the company’s chieffinancial officer, according to the Associated Press. Palmisano pled guilty to the charges in federal court in June.
US District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt sentenced Palmisano for falsifyingcorporate records and lying to auditors and accountants. Palmisano alsowas ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and more than $325,000 in restitution.
Palmisano reportedly falsified documents between 1998 and 2001. OCA was apublicly traded company formerly based in Metairie, La.
