Integra LifeSciences Holdings Corp, Plainsboro, NJ, has acquired the Precise Dental family of companies for approximately $10 million in cash. The Precise Dental family of companies includes Precise Dental Products Ltd, Precision Dental International Inc, Precise Dental Holding Corp, and Precise Dental Internacional S.A. de C.V., a Mexican corporation.
The companies develop, manufacture, procure, and sell endodontic materials and dental accessories. Their products include absorbable paper points, gutta percha, and dental mirrors. The companies have procurement and and distribution operations in Canoga Park, Calif, and manufacturing operations at multiple locations in Mexico.
Integra’s wholly owned subsidiary, Miltex Inc, will integrate the Canoga Park functions into its York, Pa, dental operations, and will manage the manufacturing operations in Mexico. "We see the potential for considerable synergies from the combination of these manufacturing, procurement, and distribution businesses with the Miltex dental business."
