Smiles Change Lives (SCL),Kansas City, Mo, a nonprofit that works to provide orthodontictreatment to children from low-income families, has been named a Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) Program Champion.

GKAS is a program of the American Dental Association (ADA)that works with US orthodontists and dentists to provide free oralhealth care services to children from low-income families. Through thechampion’s program, SCL will serve as the orthodontic access-to-carecomponent of the GKAS program’s events and services.

“The Give Kids A Smile program is very appreciative of thetransformational services that Smiles Change Lives provides to itsrecipients. We have all come to appreciate how important a bright andattractive smile is in our social and business activities,” said StevenKess, vice president of global professional relations for Henry Schein Inc, Melville, NY, and chairman of the ADA Foundation’s GKAS National Advisory Board.
