The scholarship offers education and certification opportunities for dental professionals, with applications due by February 27, 2026.

The Association for Dental Safety (ADS), the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB), and the DALE Foundation are now accepting applications for the Andrew Whitehead Education and Certification Scholarship. The program is designed to help dental professionals advance their knowledge and skills in infection control.

Eligibility and Application Timeline

The scholarship is open to a wide range of dental professionals with a minimum of 1,040 hours of work experience. Eligible roles include dental assistants, hygienists, practice managers, educators, dentists, consultants, and sales representatives, among other clinical and non-clinical positions.

The deadline to apply is February 27, 2026, at 11:59 PM CT. The scholarship recipients will be announced in May 2026.

Scholarship Categories and Certifications

Applicants can choose between two distinct paths based on their career goals.

The first category focuses on education and provides recipients with the Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate program. It also includes a one-year premium membership to ADS for individuals who are not already members.

The second category combines education with certification. It includes the certificate program, a review for the DANB Infection Control (ICE) exam, and the choice of one of two certification exams: Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control (CDIPC) or Dental Industry Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control (DISIPC). This path also includes the one-year ADS membership.

The CDIPC certification is intended for professionals in clinical settings, while the DISIPC certification is tailored for those in non-clinical roles, such as dental sales.
