Thomas R. Pitts, DDS, has been named Ortho Classic’s new executive clinical director. In this role, Pitts will handle and nurture the company’s clinical relationships, new product development, and worldwide lecture and seminar series. Moreover, he will be responsible for developing new clinical approaches with emphasis on smile arc and traditional techniques, and the development of partner doctors to ensure success of continuing education efforts, the company says.
Pitts, who has practiced orthodontics in Reno, Nev, since 1970, has been published in multiple journals and clinical publications. He also has developed and published specific bracket placement guidelines and is an active educator in the orthodontic community, both nationally and internationally. His emphasis is on orthodontic finishing and smile arc protection. Pitts currently serves as associate clinical professor of orthodontics at the University of the Pacific.
