The software maker now allows orthodontic offices to check patient insurance coverage in real time.

Valian, a developer of AI front desk software for medical and dental practices, now offers instant insurance verification to orthodontic offices.

Real-Time Coverage Verification

The system requires a patient’s member ID and date of birth to run a real-time check, which generally completes in under a second. The verification results are automatically added to the patient’s profile alongside their insurance card images and the date of the inquiry.

The returned data details whether the plan is active and in-network, the deductible met and remaining, and the annual maximum used and remaining. It also provides coverage percentages by category, frequency limits, waiting periods, and pre-authorization flags.

Payer Network and Integration

According to the company, more than 1,100 payers respond instantly, and the overall network includes more than 3,600 payers. Orthodontic practices can begin utilizing the verification tool before connecting their practice management system.

Usage-Based Pricing Model

Valian utilizes a usage-based pricing model at $2.50 per check, with no long-term contract required. The initial month of service is free. According to the company, a payment card is kept on file and is charged $500 on day 30 unless the practice chooses to cancel.
