Enhanced Collaboration & Workflow Optimization

As the company describes it, the Cloud provides a more efficient workflow and allows for enhanced collaboration with its treatment planning professionals to achieve the customer’s desired treatment plan. The Cloud workflow is in beta testing for a few more weeks and will be commercially launched this spring. Current customers will be notified when it is available.

A Transformational Upgrade

Integration with uDesign 10 Desktop

The launch of the uDesign Cloud workflow coincides with the release of the uDesign 10 Desktop, which allows for integration of cloud-based tools for case submissions and ordering with a full-feature desktop application for treatment planning and aligner manufacturing. uDesign 10 also introduces new Indirect Bonding features, including a bracket prescription builder, height settings, and an expanded bracket library.

According to a press release from the company, uDesign Cloud key features include:

  • Easy access from Mac and PC computers – Accessible from any web-based computer.
  • Redesigned patient dashboards – Search, sort, and filter active and archived cases in order to review aligner treatment plans and purchase details as well as track aligner orders.
  • Simplified uAssist experience – Improved workflow and simple chat window.
  • Cross-platform case access – Start and access all patient cases from both the cloud and desktop.
  • Simplified patient starts – AI photo sorting and customizable SmartRx prescription protocols.
  • Easily modify cases – Modify auxiliaries, adjust individual teeth, and apply arch/vertical adjustments to anterior teeth.
  • Enhanced tooth-model graphics – Clean and modern design.
  • Aligner order flexibility – Place aligner and retainer orders with options for bundles or a la carte.

Future Transition to Cloud

All uAssist planning, uSmile orders, account management, and billing will be centralized in the Cloud, according to the company. Comprehensive self-planning and in-office printing remain available only in the desktop version at this time and will eventually transition to the Cloud workflow.
