In what the company calls its “most significant software update release to date, the uDesign software now includes AI-guided setup and one-touch bracket removal.

uLab Systems, creator of uSmile, Clear Aligners and uDesign aligner planning software, announced the release of uDesign version 6.0, what the company calls its “most significant software update release to date.” The uDesign orthodontic treatment planning software now includes AI-guided setup and one-touch bracket removal.

“The uLab uDesign 6.0 release is further proof of our commitment to continuous innovation in the orthodontic community,” said Charlie Wen, chief technology officer, co-founder, president, and board member of uLab. “Our breakthrough AI technology offers our users a whole new level of efficient work-flow and ease of use for the set-up of moderate and more complex cases.”

The Guided Setup (GS) feature reportedly uses familiar clinical processes with a novel AI approach for easier set-up of even complex cases. Meanwhile, One-Touch Bracket Removal is intended to make finishing cases in aligners easier than ever by allowing removal of the brackets post-scanning so aligners can be ordered and ready when bracket removal day arrives.

Currently, the first 100 aligners submitted from an office utilizing uDesign 6.0 will be charged at $15 apiece starting June 1, 2021. To qualify, a minimum of one uSmile aligner case planned on 6.0 must be submitted by June 30, 2021. All $15 uSmile aligners must be ordered by August 31, 2021.

The company is offering a training webinar focused on uDesign 6.0 on May 14, 2021.
