The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) announced the certification and certification renewal of 152 orthodontists following the ABO Clinical Examination held September 24 to 28, 2018, in St Louis.

The Clinical Examination is the second of a two-part certification process that also includes prior completion of the Written Examination. ABO Board Certification is a voluntary credential that, according to the ABO, “represents an orthodontist’s personal and public commitment to the standards of specialty practice and lifelong learning.”

Currently, approximately 44% of AAO practicing orthodontists are ABO certified.
