The AAO announced that the 2023 Annual Session would take place in Chicago from April 21-24 at McCormick Place West.
The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) 2023 Annual Session will take place April 21 to 24 at McCormick Place West in Chicago.
Historically, the AAO’s Annual Session hosts between 16,000 – 17,000 people, with nearly 30% of attendees being international, representing 92 countries. For 4 days each year, the AAO transforms the Annual Session host city into a global epicenter for orthodontic professionals.
According to the AAO, the 2022 event delivered outstanding economic impact to Miami Beach businesses and residents, totaling an estimated $25 million.
The event, which includes 4 days of learning, discussion, study, and collaboration for orthodontists and their staff, will feature more than 200 lectures from the world’s leading orthodontic clinicians, researchers, and experts in practice management.
The AAO Annual Session Exhibit Hall will feature over 350 exhibitors with groundbreaking products and services from hundreds of leading companies. The Exhibit Hall will be open Saturday, April 22, through Monday, April 24, and showcase products and services essential to a contemporary orthodontic practice.
This year, the AAO is bringing attendees a customizable experience that makes it easier to find content that fits their goals and makes the most of their time in Chicago. Each attendee can design an experience that delivers what they want at AAO’s Annual Session.
The attendee paths personalize a program targeting each attendee’s most pressing goals with seven curated paths featuring education, innovation, and high-caliber networking with a dynamic community of peers.
“The 2023 AAO Annual Session is an incomparable opportunity to gain knowledge and insights into emerging treatment topics that will benefit orthodontists at all stages of their careers,” said Norm Nagel, DDS, MS, president of the AAO. “The weekend is full of opportunities to learn, reunite with colleagues, and of course, find the latest technology advancements for our specialty.”
New York Times best-selling author, Neil Pasricha, will deliver the Opening Keynote, “Does Success Lead to Happiness? Or Does Happiness Lead to Success?”
Pasricha’s dynamic, entertaining, and interactive style makes him one of the most popular speakers on the TED and SXSW stages, according to the AAO.
For those who cannot attend the Annual Session in person, the AAO will livestream limited content presented on April 22 through April 24. It will allow virtual attendees to earn up to 15.5 hours of live CE, just like those traveling to Chicago.
Clinically relevant topics include missing and impacted teeth, transverse dimension, interdisciplinary treatment, airway management, Class II, anchorage and TADs, asymmetry, and aligners. Business topics include marketing, human resource management, practice health, and financial numbers/analyses.
