America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation® has launched El Club de los Niños—the Spanish-language version of its America’s ToothFairy Kids Club. El Club de los Niños is an online program that provides monthly personalized letters from the ToothFairy as well as tips, activities, recipes, songs, and more to teach and reinforce positive oral health behaviors for children ages 3 to 12 and their caregivers.
In addition to regular communications, club members will participate in contests, giveaways, and other promotions that further build awareness of the importance of a healthy smile. A monthly “Parents Corner” offers practical tips and strategies for encouraging healthy habits at home.
Recognizing that Latino children experience higher rates of untreated dental disease than other US children, America’s ToothFairy has partnered with the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation and other national and regional partners to expand access to care and education among at-risk, Spanish-speaking children and families.
“We are so pleased that El Club de los Niños will help a new population of young children and their families establish positive oral health behaviors and improve their overall health and wellness,” said Fern Ingber, America’s ToothFairy President and CEO. “We invite all interested families to register today to ensure their children have the building blocks they need for a lifetime of healthy smiles.”
El Club de los Niños welcomes individual children as well as groups of children through participating schools, community health clinics, after-school programs, and child care centers to register for the club at www.atninos.org. With one registration, educators will receive Club de los Niños tips and games to reinforce classroom and group activities, clinic visits, and wellness initiatives.
