The 2022 AAO Professional Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC, takes place on April 5, and the American Association of Orthodontists is offering a last-minute invite for members to register.

To register, the AAO is asking members to make a contribution at aaopac.org and contact Kathy DiPrimo, expressing interest no later than March 28.

DiPrimo will help interested members make hotel arrangements and get registered.

The conference will begin with registration at 1 PM on April 5 and concludes by 2:30 PM on April 6. The conference will feature various speakers, advocacy updates, and attendee engagement.

Conference attendees will also be able to go on a night tour of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the National Mall. The tour will feature the founder of The Wall, former president of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and Purple Heart Vietnam veteran Jan C. Scruggs.

The conference will also feature the AAO’s Florida lobbyist Anita Berry and the Washington State Dental Association government relations director Emily Lovell, joined by AAO staff to discuss effective state advocacy strategies.

There will be a regulatory discussion to learn more about the regulatory environment and ways to create influence with decision-makers in the executive branch.

A discussion on the future of AAO advocacy will feature an important discussion and listening session to consider future advocacy priorities.

The AAOPAC reception and dinner will offer members a chance to engage directly with a bipartisan group of members of Congress at the Hamilton Hotel.
