Gary_InmanThe Southern Association of Orthodontists (SAO) has elected Gary Inman, DMD, as its representative on the Board of Trustees of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). The SAO is one of eight AAO constituent groups representing orthodontists practicing in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, the portion of Louisiana that lies east of the Mississippi River, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Inman—who has offices located in Elizabethtown, Campbellsville, and Glasgow, Ky—attended the University of Louisville for his undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education. He earned a BA in biology in 1972, his dental degree in 1976 from the University’s College of Dentistry, and completed his orthodontic residency in the University’s College of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics in 1978.

He began his exclusive practice of orthodontics in 1978, and currently practices with his eldest son, Dr Greg K. Inman, and former patient Dr Thomas M. Baldwin.

A Diplomate of ihe American Board of Orthodontics, Inman is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry and the International College of Dentistry. He is a member and past president of the Kentucky Association of Orthodontists, as well as a member and past president of the SAO. In 2013, the SAO presented him with the Oren Oliver Distinguished Service Award, the highest recognition bestowed by the organization.

Inman is also a member of the World Federation of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, and the Louisville Dental Society.

The University of Louisville College of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics recognized Inman with its first-ever Outstanding Alumni Award in 2013.
