3Shape has acquired LabStar, a cloud-based lab management software provider that helps dental labs manage cases, clients, and billing.

3Shape announced that it has acquired lab management software (LMS) provider, LabStar.

LabStar’s solutions provide simple, cloud-based lab management software to help run a dental lab from case entry to invoice, with features for managing clients, sales, logistics, digital files, reporting, and billing. Close to 600 dental labs around the world use LabStar.

“We are very excited to bring LabStar into the 3Shape family,” said Rune Fisker, 3Shape senior vice president of product strategy. “We believe that LabStar is the very best LMS on the market – and so do the dental technicians we work with. Whether you are a dental lab using 3Shape, LabStar, or both, having LabStar onboard will enable your lab to do so much more.”

Staff from the LabStar team will integrate into the 3Shape organization as of today. Pricing for the LabStar LMS customers remains unchanged.

“There’s a little bit of magic here,” said Jeff Noles, LabStar’s chief executive officer. “Two companies that are considered the best at what they do will now combine their shared dedication to innovation and customer service to provide dental labs with so many more opportunities, especially when it comes to digital dentistry, to grow and manage their businesses.”
