DENTSPLY GAC, Islandia, NY, has added Benjamin Burris, DDS, MDS, to its GCARE team of speakers and educators.
“GCARE, GAC’s Clinical Alliance for Research and Education has not only clinical education but also practice growth and practice management within its charter” said Todd Metts, Director of Professional Services for DENTSPLY GAC. “Ben brings a truly unique perspective to the conversation as the owner and operator of several large volume orthodontic practices as well as creating related businesses in publishing and the not for profit sector.”
“Orthodontists today face a tough economy and competitive market,” said Burris. “Knowing how to manage the practice is every bit as critical to success as clinical competency but most orthodontists will tell you that their formal education did not include much business. DENTSPLY GAC shares my passion to help the orthodontic community bridge this knowledge gap.”
Burris received his DDS from the University of Tennessee—Health Science Center’s College of Dentistry, where he also completed his orthodontic residency and received his MDS. He is a clinical professor at Roseman University and owver of the largest individually owned orthodontic practice in North America. Burris created the Smile for a Lifetime Foundation model and was founder of the first Smile for a Lifetime chapter. He co-owns The Progressive Magazines and Study Groups.
