Boards of Directors of both DENTSPLY International Inc, York, Pa, and Sirona Dental Systems Inc announced that they have unanimously approved a definitive merger agreement, resulting in a company with a dental sales and service infrastructure totaling 15,000 employees globally.

The combined company, supported by its platforms in consumables, equipment, and technology, will offer a set of complementary offerings and end-to-end solutions to enhance patient care, the companies note.
