DEXIS™, Hatfield, Pa, announced that the Pride Institute has presented DEXIS CariVu with the Best of Class Technology Award for 2014 as a product that demonstrates excellence in its category. According to the company, this recognition focuses on credibility and meaningful innovation of products that “push the envelope” of technology. Previously, DEXIS has was honored by Pride Institute for its intraoral digital sensor, DEXIS Platinum, and its dental imaging software, DEXIS Imaging Suite and DEXIS go.
CariVu technology benefits the patient by detecting caries without ionizing radiation. The device is compact, portable, and uses patented transillumination technology to support the identification of occlusal, interproximal, and recurrent carious lesions and cracks. CariVu images can be compared to intraoral radiographs and camera images within the DEXIS software.
