DS World 2022 in Las Vegas saw over 4,500 attendees for the educational, networking, and entertainment event.
Dentsply Sirona World 2022 in Las Vegas concluded after 3 days, encompassing clinical education, networking and entertainment.
The event created connections to people, innovative ideas, and groundbreaking technology that together enable best practices and growth beyond industry standards, according to Dentsply Sirona.
This year’s event was a global experience, with a live connection between the Dentsply Sirona World attendees in Las Vegas and Madrid, where another Dentsply Sirona World was happening at the same time.
“Dentsply Sirona World unites dental professionals around the world,” said Simon Campion, president and chief executive officer of Dentsply Sirona. “It is a chance to connect, collaborate, and learn from a large and diverse community of peers to enable better outcomes for patients and create healthy smiles.”
Half of the mainstage speakers at DS World 2022 were women owing to the company’s commitment to promoting women in dentistry, supporting their professional development, advocating for parity, and helping give them a strong voice in the dental community.
Highly anticipated by attendees, Farhad Boltchi, DMD, repaired a fractured tooth during the live implant surgery using Ossix bone grafting material, a Primeprint 3D printed surgical guide, CEREC Guide 3, for placement of the DS PrimeTaper Implant System, and finally a CEREC-milled temporary restoration – all in one sitting.
The next day, Boltchi and his patient were present on the mainstage at Caesars Forum and answered questions from the audience which were submitted via the Dentsply Sirona World app. Later, Mona Patel, DDS, presented a case on mainstage where a SureSmile® clear aligner therapy was completed using only 18 aligners over 36 weeks.
Attendees at DS World 2022 were offered an exclusive preview of the new Primescan Connect – a highly connective, laptop-based version of the Primescan intraoral scanner.
In his mainstage presentation, A Digital Office for the Future, Mike Skramstad, DDS, showed how he uses the new device in his practice, with attendees then given the chance to experience it for themselves in the exhibit hall.
Dentsply Sirona’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Erania Brackett, was joined by founder and executive chairwoman of Spanx, Sara Blakely, on mainstage to talk about growing a business from the ground up.
Award-winning comedian, television host, and writer, David Spade wrapped up the first day with a stand-up comedy show. The rock band Journey also performed and called on the audience to stand up and sing their hits with them.
“The energy was electrifying. You could feel the excitement and passion to learn, connect, engage, and work together to transform dentistry and improve oral health,” said Andrew Robinson, senior vice president, North America regional commercial organization and chief digital officer of Dentsply Sirona. “I am excited to continue to strengthen the connections that were made and to see the transformative ideas and actions that will come out of this year’s event.”
