DynaFlex has added the DMP Flex 200 metal 3D printer from 3D Systems to enhance speed and precision in producing fixed orthodontic appliances.

DynaFlex has expanded its digital manufacturing capabilities with the integration of the DMP Flex 200, a metal 3D printer developed by 3D Systems. The new system is designed to enhance the production of custom fixed appliances, such as 3D printed bands, through increased print speed and material efficiency.

“Thanks to our trusted partners at Nota3D and 3D Systems, we’ve expanded our metal printing capabilities with the powerful DMP Flex 200—boosting production speeds by up to 80%,” said Matt Malabey, Director of Operations at DynaFlex.

Technical Capabilities and Workflow Improvements

Engineered for high-precision, small-part dental applications, the DMP Flex 200 includes a 500W laser source, expanded build volume, and improved surface finish. It also supports a range of dental alloys including LaserForm® CoCr, Stainless Steel 316L, and Ti Gr23. The machine’s efficiency in reducing material waste and minimizing post-processing is expected to support faster turnaround for practices nationwide.

“The latest laser technology, automation tools, and improved onboarding features allow us to scale smarter and faster,” Malabey said. “It’s a strategic step forward for DynaFlex that enhances both quality and speed, while optimizing every touchpoint in our workflow.”

Automation and Safety Features

The system also features integrated Oqcam software, which automates orientation, nesting, labeling, and support generation—key functions in streamlining the 3D printing process. Advanced powder-handling mechanisms and chamber sealing are designed to ensure cleaner and safer operation for users.

Supporting On-Time Delivery and Quality

“This upgrade supercharges our capacity, ensuring on-time delivery and uncompromising quality for every fixed appliance we produce,” said Darren Buddemeyer, Owner and President of DynaFlex.

Commitment to U.S.-Based Innovation

The adoption of the DMP Flex 200 marks a continued investment by DynaFlex in domestic digital manufacturing. The company emphasized that its partners—Nota3D and 3D Systems—are also U.S.-based, supporting its goal to deliver American-made products and technologies to orthodontic practices and labs.
