Biolase Inc, Irvine, Calif, has received approval of its Epic Pro laser systems from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The Epic Pro diode laser system received marketing authorization in international markets last year and can now be sold in the United States.
The dental soft-tissue laser features “a new super pulse technology,” according to the company, which allows for more precise tissue cutting. In addition, it features real-time automatic power control and pre-initiated, bendable, disposable tips with new smart tip technology to ensure improved tip performance and quality.
