The United States Patent and Trade Office has granted OrthoAccel® Technologies Inc, Houston, two new patents. In addition, the State Intellectual Patent Office of the People’s Republic of China has granted the company its first patent.
According to the company, the new patents protect key design elements and ranges of parameters for AcceleDent®, the company’s FDA-cleared vibratory orthodontic device.
OrthoAccel now holds 13 patents—including these three new ones—focusing on AcceleDent.
AcceleDent, a Class II medical device available by prescription, is available in more than 3,000 orthodontic locations in North America and nearly 800 international locations, according to information from the company.
