highest_payingOrthodontist is the 7th highest-paying job of 2015, according to a list released by the job search website Career Cast. The company used US Bureau of Labor Statistics data on annual median wages to create the ranking.

Orthodontist came in at #7 with an annual median wage of $129,110. Dentist came into position higher at #5 with an annual median wage of $146,340.

At the top of the list for highest-paying job of 2015: Surgeon, with an annual median wage of $352,220. Six of the top 10 jobs listed were in the healthcare field, including psychiatrist (#2), physician—general practice (#3), and pharmacist (#10).

According to Career Cast, the growth outlook for orthodontists and dentists comes in at 16% for both. Growth outlook is tracked over a 10-year period (2012 to 2022) by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
