Smiles Change Lives (SCL), Kansas City, Mo, has introduced a new format for its [removed]National Candy Exchange[/removed]. The exchange is part of the organization’s initiatives to mark October’s National Orthodontic Health Month.

The new event model invites participants to host a candy exchangeevent to collect candy and build awareness of oral and orthodontichealth for youth. Orthodontists trade their patients healthy treats fortheir candy. The candy is then weighed, and practices make a donation toSCL equivalent to the weight of candy collected.
