Syneron Dental,Yokneam, Israel, introduces the LiteTouch™ System. The LiteTouch is anall-tissue, nonfiber, nonarticulated arm Er: YAG dental laser that canbe used for hard- and soft-tissue procedures.
According to the company, placing the laser chamber within the handpieceeliminated the need for fiber and made it possible to reduce the sizeof the overall machine by removing the optical table and articulatedarm.
The handpiece, designed like a normal drill, rotates 360°. The fiberless design was made to reduce energy loss.
Syneron offers training seminars for orthodontists using the system.
