The 3D Imaging Institute, sponsored by Imaging Sciences International, has added the Live 3D Dentistry Forum to its 3D dentistry curriculum. The event features lectures and live scans, as well as real-time surgical and treatment-planning procedures.

The first Forum, co-sponsored by Henry Schein Dental, will be held July 29 and 30 in Anaheim, Calif. Each day will include a program that provides eight CE credits.

Day one is geared toward orthodontists, with four speakers covering topics such as integration of 3D cone beam in the orthodontic practice, imaging and dose control, diagnosis and treatment planning in 3D, and comparison of 2D and 3D radiography using case examples. The program culminates with a live i-CAT scan and 3D orthodontic treatment-planning session by a California board-certified orthodontist.

Day two of the forum will focus on implants. The day’s program will cover the precision of CBCT for implants; 3D technology integration of CBCT and CAD/CAM; responsible imaging; and a live, single-placement implant procedure. Beginning with the initial examination and discussion of the 3D scan, a California board-certified dentist will discuss diagnostic findings, demonstrate the planning phase using 3D imaging software, and then perform the placement of the implant.
