The American Dental Association (ADA) is offering a free webinar on dental insurance in February. The webinar is designed as an introductory discussion for office managers, staff, and doctors.
Dental Insurance 101: A Beginners Course for Office Staff will stream on February 23, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm CT. One CERP credit will be available to attendees.
The webinar will cover the basics of how preferred provider organization plans and networks operate, while also discussing preferred provider organization plan design, common contract clauses and processing policies that can impact revenue, and plan terminology. In addition, the webinar will discuss coordination of benefits and COB write-offs, how to file an effective claim denial appeal, how to talk to patients about dental insurance, and where to find ready-to-use education resources.
The session will be presented by Amrita Patel, DDS, a general dentist in New York. Patel is a 2011 graduate of the NYU College of Dentistry and is a member of the ADA Council of Dental Benefit Programs.
