Align iTero optAlign Technology Inc, San Jose, Calif, has introduced a new, redesigned iTero chairside imaging system. The new system is available as a single hardware platform with software options for orthodontic or restorative procedures.

The iTero system features a modern design with enhanced wand optics for a smaller, more ergonomic fit. It also comes equipped with an easy-to-use keyboard and a larger working surface, offering a streamlined workflow.

iTero’s powderless scanning technology, advanced optics, and software will increase imaging speed and reduce the overall scanning time, according to Align Technology, the makers of Invisalign.

iTero will enhance the company’s Invisalign Outcome Simulator, which allows patients to see projected results of their Invisalign procedure. The system uses full-color model rendering, which allows clinicians to show patients a life-like final model of their scanned dentition.

The product can be used for many other types of orthodontic consultations, for crown or bridge restoration, or other procedures, allowing doctors to select the option that best fits the needs of each individual case.

Align will begin North American sales in February. The system offers options for multiple software applications and scanning and service subscriptions.
