ImageWorks,Elmsford, NY, has received FDA approval for its NewTom 5G cone beam CT.The NewTom 5G is the successor to the company’s NewTom 3G.
The NewTom 5G uses flat-panel technology with a 16-bit dynamic range. Itfeatures seven flexible fields of view (FOV), including a 18- x 16-cmFOV, ideal for imaging the entire maxillofacial region. In addition,the NewTom 5G features a .075-mm resolution.
The NewTom 5G uses Safe Beam™ technology, which automatically senses andadjusts radiation for each specific patient, according to the company.
