3D Systems, Rock Hill, SC, released its new dental 3D printer, the DMP Dental 100.
The DMP Dental 100 is a metal dental printer that is designed for entry level use. According to the company, it can 3D print up to 90 crown copings (pictured) in less than 4 hours in a single print run, with only 25 minutes required for heat treatment. The printer produces high surface quality, which reportedly requires minimal post-processing. A typical print has an accuracy of 50 microns, making it ideal for crown copings, bridges, suprastructures, and partial frames.
The DMP Dental 100 3D printer comes with LaserForm CoCr (C) material as well as a software solution for managing the manufacture of fixed and removable dental prostheses.
3D Systems released the DMP Dental 100 3D printer at the same time as its new DMP Flex 100 3D printer, which is an entry level metal 3D printer designed for use in research and development, application development, and production.
“We believe these 3D printing solutions will further expand the adoption of metal additive manufacturing by designers and engineers, researchers, manufacturers, and dental professionals,” said Kevin McAlea, EVP metals and healthcare at 3D Systems.
